Le rocce calcaree che qui prevalgono e le piccole piogge hanno definito questa provincia una fisionomia arida e spoglia. In tutta questa zona scorre il fiume Cemi, che nasce dalle Alpi albanesi e sfocia nella Moraca. In cima c&#8217;\u00e8 un flusso rapido e veloce, mentre la valle \u00e8 profonda e stretta. Affiorando nella Piana di Cemi allarga il suo alveo e acquista le caratteristiche del fiume di pianura pi\u00f9 lento, con la sua valle poco profonda e molti meandri.
